Everyone is busy, especially during the winter months. You’ve got the holidays, you’ve got winter kid’s activities, work obligations, and everything in between. Sometimes, getting a hot meal on the table for dinner is next to impossible.
That’s where the trusty old crock pot comes in! All you have to do is start your meal in the morning before you leave for the day. Guess what you get to come home to? A house that smells wonderful and a hot meal that’s been effortlessly cooking all day.
No more hitting the fast food joint for boring dinner dishes that you’ve had twice already this week. Crock meals save you time and money and they are also healthier than eating out.
I’ve decided it would be a great idea to put together a roundup of some of my favorite winter crock pot meals. I’m kind of an authority on the subject because I use my crock pot a lot during the winter months. I don’t even put the thing away. it’s basically a centerpiece in my kitchen.
I think my husband might even miss some of those fast food meals haha! Oh well, when it gets cold, it’s crock pot season, baby!
Well, enough jabbering on. How about we get to that list?
If you’re craving a classy Mexican dish but don’t have time to spend hours cooking in the kitchen, turn to your slow cooker for help. You can cook the main component of this sassy and spicy meal in the crockpot and throw together the other stuff in about 20 minutes.
It’s delicious! My family likes to eat this with tortilla boats. So yummy!
We all love Philly cheesesteaks. Well, at least my family does. They are seriously delicious. Did you know you can cook the meat mixture in your crockpot? Yep! Simply serve it up on buns and add your Swiss cheese for a heck of a meal.
This food is piping hot and perfect on a wintery day.
A roast is probably one of my favorite things to make in the slow cooker. It comes out so decadent and juicy. You’ll love the gravy that this recipe produces, too. Oh, and the carrots…heavenly! I think crockpot roast carrots are one of my favorite side dishes.
Cooking a roast in your slow cooker is beyond easy. Any first timer can definitely conquer it.

I like to serve this meal with whipped potatoes and biscuits. Keep it simple by making instant potatoes and frozen biscuits. Easy!
My family adores beef stroganoff. The meat, the veggies, the noodles! It’s all pretty much a big bowl full of deliciousness. The first time I made this dish in the slow cooker was a mega-hit. I had never added carrots to the mix before, and I’m glad that I did. Delicious!
This is such a cozy meal with a kick! You don’t need to go to The Big Easy to get yourself a plate of this yumminess. Dump the ingredients in your slow cooker and let the magic happen.
I swear when I eat this meal I can hear blues music playing in my ears.
This is a GREAT idea! This poster takes the easy factor and raises the bar to shockingly simple proportions. So, what you do is place the ingredients into a freezer bag on a cooking prep day. Put the bag in the freezer and when you’re ready to make this heavenly soup, put it into the crockpot. Boom.
I was a little leery the first time I heard of crockpot lasagna, but let me tell ya, it turns out GREAT. You may think that what you’re left with is a pot full of mushy noodles and sauce but on the contrary, my friend! You get a hot helping of firm noodles, melted cheese, and Italian goodness.
There really isn’t anything better than coming out of the cold to a warm house and hot soup simmering in the pot. This soup is delectable. It’s a recipe for homemade minestrone and it couldn’t taste any better than if my grandma came on down from heaven and cooked it herself.
Here we have another hot and hearty soup given to us by the dear old crockpot. Doesn’t this dish look steamy and delish? I like to serve this soup with crackers or maybe rolls. I keep it simple. We almost always have seconds and thirds of the stuff so I don’t really need to provide much else as a side. Nobody walks away hungry, that’s for sure!
Now, that’s what I call a one pot meal! Everything is made right in the crockpot. There is no need to bugger around with making sides for the honey chicken. All you do is open the pot, plate ‘er up, and eat.
Chowders are thick, heavy, and hot. The perfect meal on a cold, winter’s day. You can serve these in bread bowls if you want to take that extra step. However, a slice of good ‘ol white bread from the bag will do just fine, too.
This amazing slow cooker meal will totally knock your socks off. For one, you only need 3 ingredients. 3! For two, it tastes amazing. I like to serve this chicken with either buttered noodles or mashed potatoes. We’ve even eaten it with French fries, before. It’s your call, mama.
Making shredded chicken has never been easier than in the crockpot. The meat becomes so tender that it literally pulls apart like nothing. I shred it with two forks without a problem. You can make your own BBQ sauce or use a store-bought variety. It really doesn’t matter.
Heres another totally delicious Italian meal made in the crockpot. This tortellini is stuffed with all the good stuff. Set it and forget it. That’s it! Well, until it’s time to eat, that is. Then, stuff your face!
I don’t know about you, but the thought of coming out of the cold to a crockpot full of cola sauced baby back ribs makes my heart thump. I love this meal! It’s perfect for warming up your hands because you can eat these ribs with your fingers 🙂
Who says you can’t cook fancy in the crockpot? This pork tenderloin cooks up amazingly well and is perfect for serving wintertime guests. You could probably even pull this off during a holiday meal. The meat comes out fork tender. Pair it with your favorite pork-sides for a meal you won’t soon forget.
Pork turns out amazingly well in the slow cooker. No matter the cut, you can pretty much plan on having a great dinner on your table. These pork chops and string beans are no exception.
The only exception would be bacon. I wouldn’t try to “fry” bacon in the slow cooker haha!
doesn’t this sound heavenly? See, I told you all cuts of pork turn out well in the slow cooker. This brown sugar ham is so juicy and good. The sugar sort of caramelizes on the ham is cooks and creates a syrupy sauce. Seriously, you have to try this winter crockpot treat.
You can’t have a winter meal compilation without macaroni and cheese. Did you know you can make this noodley, cheesy amazing dish in the slow cooker? Yep! It turns out great, too.
Wow, I sure am feeling hungry after all of that! These meals look terrific! It almost makes the cold weather not seem so bad. I mean, think about it, you get to come out of the snow and ice to a warm house with something amazing cooking in the crockpot. Sounds like a good deal to me!
I think, out of all of these recipes, the Ranch chicken and macaroni and cheese sound the best. The two actually complement each other. I have two crock pots. See where I’m going with this?
